Got these two ducklings from someone i know . They are very picky about their food. Things like duck starter feed or duck feed are not available here so i have to do something about their food at home. They don't like to eat grains but they do eat boiled egg mash, banana and boiled rice. What should i feed them? Any recipe.

Does anyone have any idea about their breed? They look like mallards to me

They look like runners to me, but not 100% for food I give mine califlower broccoli watermelon Roman lettuce grapes celery egg shells pasta noodles

Have you checked into ordering online? Lots of options and you can get it delivered. I'm not sure about a recipe for ducks, I only have chickens. Where are you located? Adding a general location to your profile will give others an idea of weather, predators, and availability of products. It doesn't have to be specific, state/province is good. Others may know of a supplier in your area.

Welcome to BYC! Where do you live? Can you get chick starter for them?

i use fruit flavored bird food for tropical birds as treats my duck. They are insane for it

Petsmart petco or petvalue has cockateil food thats small enough and has atleast 14 to 20% protien that would be way better for them then Mr Noodles and broccoli

Just to get you by untill u get chick starter

It would be very hard to make up a nutrient packed feed for our ducks our selves. Look it up it takes a lot of different grains etc to make a complete feed. Your ducklings defiantly need a good balanced feed if you want them to be healthy and if females to lay eggs. So feed formulated for poultry if that is all you can get. Chick starter, all flock, finisher something that poultry can eat and get what they need from. Yes treats are good too but should only make up a small part of their diet.
