Found Chick

A neighbor found a chick in the street in front of his house, so naturally he thought it was mine (we live in a city so we are one of the only houses with chickens). It is not, but I wrangled her up nonetheless and have her quarantined in the garage well away from my existing birds. I’ve posted on all the local apps in the hopes of finding her owner, but in the meantime curious if Google Lens is correct. Searching the attached photo suggested she’s a golden Phoenix. I also refer to her as “her” as I estimate her to be 5-6 weeks old and she appears to be a pullet. Let me know your thoughts on breed/sex!

I think she is a Golden Phoenix or a game mix, though I do not know for sure. Although, I do know she is a pullet, as I cannot see any major comb growth.

Of course! She’s safe in my garage with fresh water and chick starter until I either find her rightful home or a new home. Too many hawks, owls, raccoons, possums, and cats in our neighborhood to leave her to fend for herself.

Good tip! I rehomed her with a nice young couple who are starting a flock with their kids so she will be getting some roommates shortly. All's well that ends well!
