My 1 year old roo has fowl pox- I’m almost certain of it. Started off with a cyst on his eye along with multiple bumps on his comb and waddles. He separated most of the time for breeding purposes. After a week of noticing it, it’s now covered all of his head skin. Is there anything I can do? Supplements that might help with the bumps? He otherwise acts normal and seems healthy, I just feel so bad for him

Vitamins A, D, and E are always good to supplement your chickens with when they have fowl pox, to help keep their immune systems strong. If it's dry pox, he should be able to recover after around a month. Give him electrolytes in his water to keep his energy up, too. You can feed him a little bit of scrambled eggs for a protein boost to help replace damaged cells, and if you want to help the sores, you can dab some antibiotic ointment onto them (as long as it doesn't have any painkillers). You just need to keep his immune system healthy and extra strong during this time, because the risk of getting another illness on top of fowl pox gets really high. Then you'll have a whole new problem to deal with. Hope he feels better soon!

Thank you so much! How do you think is the best way to administer the vitamins?

I agree with Fluffybutt. There is no cure and it's very contagious so you other chickens most likely have been exposed and may have/get it too. I would put the vitamins in their water, let them all get benefit from them. This is what I use. Good Luck!

Dry fowl pox virus from mosquitoes will last about 2-3 weeks, and he should recover. Make sure that he can see and get enough to eat and drink. Look inside his beak and throat for any yellow lesions, signs of the wet pox. I would put plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment into his eyes to help prevent a secondary bacterial eye infection.
