This recipe was shared by my sister a few years back and is awesome! Now that fresh strawberries are out on the produce shelves, I thought I'd share it with you all.

Strawberry Cake
1 box plain white cake mix
1 sm. pkg. strawberry jello
1 cup mashed fresh strawberries with juice
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup whole milk (I usually just use skim or 1%)
4 large eggs

-Preheat oven to 325* F
Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan. Place cake mix, jello, mashed strawberries, oil, milk, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Beat on low until everything is well blended. Pour into greased pan and bake until lightly brown, about 40 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 3/4 cup powder sugar
1/2 cup mashed strawberries *drained* (I usually mash/chop my strawberries and let them sit in a strainer the whole time the cake is baking and cooling. That way the strawberries are good and drained and won't make the icing to runny.)

-Combine cream cheese and butter. Mix on low for a minute. Add powder sugar and strawberries. Blend frosting on low until sugar is well blended.

Enjoy!
