Update! So my poor Hei Hei is my first ever rooster (annd my first big comb bird) and I didn’t think about him getting frostbite in TEXAS! I feel so bad that is beautiful comb has been destroyed but I’m pretty happy I asked for advice and helped him recover with zero issue. He never bled or got oozy and none of his girls pecked at him even when the tips were solid black and crunchy. There are still some black patches in the thick part of his comb but they don’t seem to be changing for the worse or better. He gets Veteycin and silver honey treatment 3 times a week. Posting pics from his glory days all the way through is recovery. Any ideas about the black patches hightlighted in the last pic would be appreciated. Thanks to you all for the advice!

Thank you for the update and photos.

Glad to see he's doing well. Combs heal fairly well if just left alone.

The patches on the side of the comb looks like dirt. If you are applying any ointment/spray or oil to the comb, that causes dirt to stick too. I'd let it wear off, but if you wish, just wipe it away.
