Frozen eggs!

ok so I just came back in from feeding the chickens and refreshing their water for the morning. I looked in the coop to find two eggs that were not there last night when I put them to bed. Now the question is with it being so cold out the eggs cracked down the side and are frozen. Are the still any good once they thaw out?

I don't keep the eggs that freeze and crack open, I throw them out. Not sure what others do but it concerns me that the protective shell is compromised.
I’m thinking I’m not going to eat them the more I’m reading it’s saying to cook them up for the chickens she’ll and all. Do you feed your chickens their own shells after they are cooked. Someone told me not to do that because that teaches them to eat their eggs.

We end up with a few frozen eggs occasionally, too. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if they're okay for human consumption or not, so just to play it safe, I always hard-boil them, chop them up, and feed to the chickens. It makes a mess in the pan, but the chickens really enjoy them, and gives them a little extra nutrition in the cold weather!

Yeah I think I’m going to cook them and give to the girls. I have never feed them eggs so I’m sure their gonna like that.

To prevent the frozen eggs try to collect them as often as you can. I do mine usually 3 times a day in the winter to make sure that the eggs don't get frozen.

At the least collect them when you let them out in the morning and then when you lock them up.

I wouldn't eat them. I would just thaw them and feed them to the chickens.
Some scramble the eggs, shell and all or hard boil. I don't. Any soft, thin shelled, or cracked eggs. I just smash them in the pen, and the hens devour it. Just don't smash it close to yourself, because it will splatter.
I check for eggs up to 5 times a day in below freezing temps.
@RonP has an article on helping to prevent frozen eggs. GC
