I tried searching Google and here for "goose rust" and "geese rust" as either with "eating" didnt pull up anything.
My geese, particularily the females, keep going to rusty things- metal shelving, the bumpers of old trucks, ect, and eating rust(or trying to anyways) and im not sure why. Anyone else have geese that do this? I'm thinking it might be them needing something like more oyster shells, but I'm not sure so I thought I'd ask.

They may be craving iron, some iron rich foods are broccoli, kale, quinoa, and pumpkin seeds, they do require calcium if they’re laying so supplying oystershell would be a good idea too.
Definitely supplement their diet and try to discourage them from chewing on metal, it’s dangerous, zinc toxicity from galvanized metals or peeling metal paint can be lethal.

Hmm, alright, i have some rooster booster vitamin stuff that has iron in it, so I'll try that and oystershell and try to get to the store for some of those foods. I try to keep them from doing it, I don't think any of the stuff has chipping, so there's not much of anything they can get off of it, thank you for the replies, I appreciate the help!
