Gender ID Please.

Trying to figure out a final head count of males and females for proper flock balance, but a few of them we just don't know. Never heard them crow, never seen them mounted. New to cotournix quail.

She has clear crescents on her cheeks. That usually means female. The one in back has a brown head which means male.

Wow! See when I see those crescents I think male. Quail have turned my world upside down!
It's probably because the crescents look like mutton chops to me

So I thought we had everyone figured out,but a quail I thought was a lady as she never crows was mounting another female today. So I took a picture of the would be lady and the similar one I know is male .

The little guy I know is a male

The first one isn't feather sexable. The second one you can tell is male by the brown head.
