Out of the seven "pullets" I purchased, one of them is for sure a cockerel, and one is almost definitely. I'm now getting a bit paranoid that I have more. I am certain that of the five others, two are pullets (a lavender EE and a cream Brabanter), but there are three I'm now on the fence about! I know they're only 4-5 weeks old, but I thought I'd ask for opinions anyway. The chicks were all purchased from a local farm store, which gets them from Ideal Poultry.
The two EEs in question I thought were pullets up until a couple of days ago when their combs started changing color. They are still small combs, especially on the brown EE, but rather pink compared to how they were before. These photos are pretty good, but I think the combs look pinker in person. These two EEs are also larger than all of the other chicks. They may be around 5 weeks instead of 4 though.
The third is a Rhode Island Red (I think).
What do y'all think of these three?
