We have 3 chicks around 6-7 weeks old. I’m wondering if you guys think any of them are Cockrels or if they’re all pullets. Thanks for your input!!

1: Naked neck. I think she’s a pullet but she has slight little red waddles. She is also super spunky and fights with the Wyandotte a lot.

2: Wyandotte. She (I hope she’s a she) is the most skittish and has a pinkish comb and the largest waddles. She fights with frazzle, the naked neck. I’m worried she’s a cockerel the most.

3:I’m pretty sure the Cochin is a pullet because of her demeanor and she just got slight red in her waddles.

Phew!! The scuffles between the naked neck and Wyandotte were scaring me cause I heard rooster chicks can do that. Thanks for reassuring me :thumbsup
Its completely normal for pullets to play around too! Behavior isn't the best way to tell gender, but I understand why you would be worrying about that!

I have 5 chicks. I know one is a male since it got a bright red comb at 2 weeks and wattles at 3 weeks.

I got concerned about a 2nd chick being male when it (a smaller chick) kicked the males butt after being picked on for the better part of 3 weeks.

I posted pics and was told the 2nd chick in question could be a dominant hen (didn't know that was a thing).

I was told to repost pics later to confirm. They're six weeks and the 2nd chick in question still has a small pale comb and no wattles (yet) so still likely a hen, but she quit taking his crap.

Update on the butt kicking chick . .it turned out to be male . . . HE has a male specific color pattern that didn't show up until just after 8 weeks old. . . the comb and wattles are still small (in comparison to the other male chick) but darker than they were at 6 weeks old
