Sometimes, I just really want to clean my chickens dirty little feet because I like to let them run around in the house. I've never done that yet, but I'd also like to give my Buff a bath. Would she like a nice warm bath during cold winter days? I would obviously dry her off afterwards. Also, is it bad to bring chickens inside when it's moderately cold outside? TIA :)

Well, they would poop everywhere if they run around the house XD. But I do bring one chicken inside and warm it when it's cold outside, just because I feel bad for them lol. I've never given them a bath, so I don't know.

Giving a chicken a foot bath is easy with a rag and a little bucket of barely sudsy warm water outside.
Giving a chicken indoors in a sink or sanitary tub takes longer (use minimal mild soap ) rinse well.

Soak up as much water with towels before you begin drying them with a hairdryer, it takes30 -60 minutes -essential though in winter because they'd get chilled easily, even indoors, if left to air dry. It would literally take all day.

FWIW, mine love the process and aren't afraid of the hairdryer.

In the movie, Chicken People, you can see show chickens bathed under the faucet in the kitchen sink....here's a trailer

I wouldn't give a chicken a bath just because it's a cold day though. I only bathe for a reason, like a dirty backside on a fluffy-butted girl, and see that she's not preening herself clean enough. (Some people trim these feathers)
Bathing, especially with soap , removes the natural oils laid down with preening, which are essential for protecting them from rain and helps keep them warm.

Got it, my Cochin and some other girls seem to be having a little poo on their fluffy bottoms. When it gets warmer I will be sure to clean that off.

Oh yeah, I have a Sicilian Buttercup hen who is about 9 months old, and she has weird spur things growing out like it would a rooster. It kind of looks like a bone and it hard. Not sure what to do?
