My ND goat passed away after a difficult delivery. One baby made it. I have another nanny who had babies almost 2 weeks ago. I am not experienced in this at all. Any advice would be great! The mom was ok for the first two days so he got colostrum. I have gotten some goat formula and he seems to have the hang of the tractor supply lamb and kid bottle I got. We tried to introduce him to the other nanny and babies but she was not entertaining it. I know she probably has enough milk in now that I could probably milk her a bit for him. Am I thinking correctly that I can put some in the fridge and warm it for his bottle? It wouldn't degrade the nutrients? Any tips for trying to get her to allow him with her and her babies? Bathing him and rubbing their scent on him? I don't expect it to happen right now but hopefully in about a week so that he's not all alone. Any other tips for feeding, how much, how often and the easiest ways you have found to raise him and keep him healthy and happy would be great! Should I keep on with the tractor supply bottles or could I have gotten by with a human baby bottle? If so, when would I know he was ready to go back to the longer nipple? I have attached a picture of the bottle.
