Goat. Pink eye????

What does this look like to you. I sprayed it tonight with a pink eye spray. Pic of spray below.
How else can I treat..

Could be pink eye, but it looks more like an abrasion or an ulcer. Antibiotics drops might be a better option. A vet would know for sure.

I also have tetracycline ointment would that be better. To use? Vet isn't in the budget right now.

I guess I would try the antibiotics just because the eye looks similar to when one of my dogs gets an eye ulcer from an injury. I've only seen pink eye in cattle and it always had a raised spot. I don't see one on your goats eye, but I'm not a vet, so I can only say how I might proceed.

@cassie may be able help. She's had goats for many years as well.

I knew someone here had goats couldn't remember who.. thanks for tagging her.. I was planning on putting thw ointment in tomorrow. It was dark and hard to hold her tonight.

I do have goats myself. I just haven't seen pinkeye ever in them.

I grew up with cows never goats I have seen pink eye in cows but its been years.. They are a year and a half old. Of course my kids wanted tham and we gave in and got them.. lol. Now that are our babies..

Looks like pinkeye to me. Just keep treating her with the pinkeye spray. You can use an antibiotic ointment if you are more comfortable using that. Pull the lower eyelid down and put the ointment in there. She should recover in a few days. Do you have other goats? If you do, watch them for tearing. Any goats with runny eyes should be treated promptly. If you have an area that is dark she would probably be more comfortable there. Make sure she can easily find food and water.

@cassie the goats eye isn't getting better but not getting worse. Can I give her penicillin. She is a year and a half. Not sure on weight 75 to 100 is my guess. And how much. This is in the muscle right?
