my nanny had a blocked udder, my first thought was mastitis but her udder wasn’t hot to the touch and didn’t show any other signs so i milked her. and both teats were fine and she produced around a quarter of a quart. my nanny is a pygmy dwarf who had babies a few months ago and we sold them recently so she still has full udders because they were still drinking off her. i gave her a week and today i saw her udders still full so i milked her because it looked uncomfortable. i don’t know if i did the right thing or not especially since i found out her udder had a blockage. should i keep milking her? or should i let her dry up because i don’t want to risk her to end up getting mastitis and possibly dying. any tips would be great thank you

I would stop milking her if you want her to dry up. You can do a week or so of penicillin daily if you are concerned about mastitis. Keep an eye on her.

Blockage? I am confused. How can it be blocked if you can get milk out of it?
