So I just entered to world of owning goats this week after raising chickens for 7 years... I know chickens like shiny things and movement attracts them, and I've seen the way the look at my eyes. I never expected one to peck at my new goat kids' eyes though. Anyone else experience this? And have tips on protecting my young goats eyes or keeping them from doing this? Besides separating them? They get along otherwise🙁 my babies have never been around chickens before. This group of chickens are about 3 months old.

I don’t have goats, but if I did, I would not keep them together.
There are certain bacteria that chickens can have that are fatal to young goats. Likewise, there are other bacteria that goats and ruminants can have that, once in your flock, can be horrible to get rid of.
I’ve also heard people say that their goats stomped their chickens to death.

There are lots of people who keep them together successfully, but I’m not one who would risk it.
