Got a sick duck

How’s your duck today?
I’m sorry, i havent used this site in so long i had completely forgot i made a post here.

As for my duck, she’s been the same. Her vent is still scabbing up, it tends to come and go and right now she’s pretty scabbed both on and below her vent. Her crop and abdomen looked like they were swelling up so i’ve been feeding her Monistat 7 thinking maybe she has a fungal infection. The swelling has gone down but her other symptoms remain. She’s been dropping down feathers so her underside is getting bare, i assume maybe from lack of nutrition.

I’m still giving her the vitamin/probiotic supplement. She’s still eating, has an appetite, but it feels like she lost some weight.

Did you read all the posts on this thread yet?

I thought eggbound as well until I read the swelling part:

Considering her age, unfortunately you might be dealing with ascites or water belly. Not to be doomsday, but if that’s what it is, you need to consider how to keep her comfortable and be able to end her suffering before it gets bad. Ascites has no cure since it’s a symptom of underlying organ failure. *hugs*
