My grandmother had quail and I built her a predator proof coop but one day we left the door open and they all escaped but one this little quail hen would call to my grandma and my grandma would talk to it and it lived in our house in a bird cage getting plenty of worms grass and feed for years but then she died and my grandma still talks about her occasionally 4 years later.
	
		
			
		
		
	
				
			 
	 
 
		 
 
		 
	 we were going to get silkies but we're scared of the mess on their feet feathers because our coop run has a dirt floor, we also have Canadian winters and are scared our existing hens would pick on the smaller silkies so we decided against it - they're adorable though lol.
