Grape vines safe for chickens?

I free range my chickens in my orchard which is mostly grapevines, and they love to eat the leaves. When I prune the vines I give the clippings to them and they go nuts for them. I know the leaves are safe for human consumption, but are they safe for chickens?

I know humans can eat them as well as goats, so I would assume it's fine. My chickens are usually after the grapes in the fall, I haven't notice them eating the leaves, but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I've never had a problem with my chickens eating grape leaves. As I walk up and down the rows too I pull Japanese beetles off of the plants and feed them to the chickens. As soon as they see me heading over to the grapes they run or fly to follow me to get their beetles.

I just planted grape vines, and put a nice tall fence up around them so the vines could grow instead of being pruned to the ground. Hopefully, these vines will survive. I've had vines planted for 3 years now, with very little growth. I may blame the chickens! IMO, if a chicken chooses to eat it when she's free ranging, then it's safe to eat. My chooks skeletonize the rhubarb leaves every fall when I let them into the garden to glean. However they don't touch those leaves during the rest of the growing season.
