Great stuff as sealant?

I have a log building which I am going to use as a coop. There are a few cracks and holes which are not appropriate to seal with log chinking, so plan to seal them from the inside using the spray foam insulation called "Great Stuff" or similar product. As some of you may know this foam expands and then hardens, and can be applied in layers. It's pretty strong for foam but if something wanted through it badly enough, I supposed it could be chewed through by a predator. Has anyone ever used this stuff to seal coop holes and if yes, did any predators ever chew through your "Great Stuff"?

Thanks.

By no means use that or any expanding foam by itself as a deterant for any pest or predator. Rodents and whatnot will chew thru it in a matter of seconds. Now if you were to use it in conjunction with some steel mesh, copper stuff-it or any chewproof material it would work. This stuff is a great adhesive and air block, but definitly not to keep critters out. Plus I think the chicks would have a field day pecking it.

I'd wouldn't use it if the chickens could get to it. They will eat it. Now, if you could put cheap wood up on the inside to block that, you'd be alright... but you probrably wouldn't need the "great stuff" then - depending on your climate.

I have had chickens eat styrofoam insulation for their coops. Once they peck and destroy something like that, they keep comming back. Just some of my experience. They all lived, by the way, but "great stuff" probrably has more chemicals.
