So my friend's dog attacked a green anole. I know this isn't the website for this stuff but I don't know of any backyard lizard websites. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on helping her. Here are a few pics:

Keep it warm. Like 80-85 degree warm. Give it a shallow dish of water big enough that it can soak. It may or may not stay in a warm bath. They can go a week without eating so it won't eat if it's stressed and that's totally fine. YOu can try cleaning the wounds with a q-tip dipped in witch hazel. If the leg is broken it won't make it because it won't be able to hunt. They only eat live bugs. Humidity is good.

1. I have a heating pad for her that is on the hottest setting (which really isn't that hot with the cover on). 2. She does have a shallow dish of water to cool off in that my cousin used for her hermit crabs a year ago, then she gave it to me to use for my frog (tad, I raised him from a tadpole then he died because the pet stores didnt have any food small enough for him). 3. I was wondering why she refused to eat, so thank you for telling me that. 4. What is witch hazel, and where can I buy it? 5. The leg isn't broken, she just doesn't use the front one much because that causes the skin to rub against a scratch she has by that leg. 6. I bought twelve live crickets for her and the chickens stole two of them. 7. I have a humidity measuring thing (also from when I had a frog) how humid, exactly, should it be?

Witch hazel can be found at a grocery store or pharmacy near the rubbing alcohol, it has antiseptic properties and doesn't burn or sting like alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and if they lick the wound it won't make them sick. There's no magic number for humidity, keep in mind they are a tropical jungle type Lizzard, not desert. You can mist the anole and container with a spray bottle morning and night. That bright green color in your picture is good. They tend to go brown when cold, and won't eat when cold. Don't leave the crickets in the container with it if it didn't eat them. The crickets will actually bit on the wounds. You can try giving it like 3-4 crickets in a few days. It can't eat crickets bigger than its head.

My humidity thing has three levels: desert, moderate, and tropical. It was on moderate last I saw. I put her and one of the smaller crickets together where it would be hard for the cricket to get away from her if she wanted to eat it and she didn't eat so i put it back with the other crickets and put her back in the tank. Maybe if my mom or grandma goes out tomorrow to buy stuff I can go with them and hit the witch hazel. Thank you so much for the help!
