Grey Game? or Silver Phoenix? Let's play name that breed!!

So I bought this bird, basically over the phone...thinking it was one breed...but now I'm not so sure. The more I look at him, the more I think he isn't what I thought he was. So here's a little practice for you...what do YOU think he is? Some sort of Grey Gamefowl? OR a Silver Phoenix rooster? I won't tell you what I was supposed to be buying, nor which I think he is now...that would just make you biased in your opinions! LOL But as you can see, I bought him anyway.

Wow, he sure is handome! I haven't had either breed so I can't give you a knowledgable guess. But, here goes my thoughts anyway. At first glance I thought Phoenix because he isn't dubbed and so I looked at the comb. His shoulder coloring isn't as brown/red as I have seen Grey Games. He does have some black streaking in his hackles. So I thought HQ Phoenix. But if he had been dubbed, then I would think he was Game and not give it a thought.

I have a feeling he was sold as a Phoenix and you are now thinking Game. Based on that assumption, I would post his photo in the Phoenix thread here. There are some really experienced folks that have Phoenix and can probably give you a better idea. If you wouldn't mind posting any conclusions here, that would be outstanding!

And yes, he is definitely a gorgeous guy!! I can use him either way...but just want to make sure that he goes in with the girls he should.

X2, tail carriage is off for phoenix. I would have problems dubbing, that's why I don't breed them, so I can understand why he wasn't dubbed if game.

Just a quess though.

If you could find out where the original owner got the bird that will help. Hatchery? poor quality phoenix. Private breeder? Possibly gamefowl. I had largefowl Old English at one time that looked similar to this but he has a lot of white in his earlobes and blue legs......possibly a real bad phoenix.

The bird in question has red earlobes. I'm sticking with game though.

looks like my milli oegb with slight white on the eas...the tail carrige is way to high even for a hatchey bird....i would know my parents got one from ideal poultry and it's tail will not grow no matter what needless to say they are very mad about it.
