My buetiful baby chick. He/she was sick. I cared for her for weeks, wakijg up at 5am everymorning, making her meals, and cuddling with her. She got healthy... and then i went away for 1 weekend and had someone else take care of my chcikens. My beutiful baby was eaten alive by a pig because they didnt put her away. I know you were happy your whole life, but i cant stop thinking about how terrifying it must have been to be eaten alive by a pig. Im so sorry rex, i dream every night that your ok, and then cry when i wake up.

So, so sorry for your loss.

I'm sure Rex didn't suffer though as those have big jaws and probably broke its neck immediately, so it was painless at least.

Rex knew your love and had a great little life here.

Hopefully, someday you can have another Rex II.

I'm sorry you lost the chick after nursing it back to health but good and bad times happen to us all! Somewhere down the road the pig will end up on somebodies dinner table harsh as it may sound .Its just the circle of life. Try and forgive others when they disappoint you. Some things are easier than others.Be blessed!

So sad. I have also nursed chicks who die. But you have to try. You gave Rex a good life.

I'm so, so sorry this happened. I nursed a chick back to health and we always had a special bond. She was one of the friendliest gals. Fast forward about a year, and she and three of my other chickens were killed by a mystery predator yesterday. I think it was a dog. It's absolutely brutal. I keep forgetting that it happened and then I look outside to check on them and their enclosure is empty. I know the feeling. I can't stop crying and stayed home from work today. I hope it will get more bearable with time. Hang in there. My prayers are with you. You did what you could for Rex and gave him a good life while he was here.
