How much grit should my baby chicks be eating? They are a week old and the go through the grit like I wish I could go through cheesecake! Every time I fill the plate they eat in in a few minutes and then I fill it again and ...well, it is a cycle. I am feeding them starter food that I got from Mcmurrays and they are eatingthat too, but the grit is ridiculous! Should I be giving them this much?

Frome what I have read on here, there is really no need for grit, there is grit in thier food. Hmmmm....dont think it is necessary. I have never given any to mine.

If they are not eating anything besides their starter, they do not need any grit. Don't give it to them in a bowl, sprinkle it on their food when they are little, if they are eating anything else besides their starter. They will eat it like it's food and not eat enough food.

Aaaahhhh! Well now....I feel stupid!
