Need advice. One of my male guinea fowl was attacked, today, by several of his own group that he was raised with. He initially was a bloody mess. I immediately used styptic powder to stop the bleeding. I need to know if anyone has dealt with this before. Are there any herbal remedies that I can use? I am getting him to drink electrolytes in the water and he is a strong bird. His skin is ripped up pretty badly. I could take a picture but imagine the feathers being stripped away and an exposed back. I will be further assessing him but need him to rest for a small time. Are there any suggestions on what I can do outside of the usual Antibacterial spray, hen healer, styptic, iodine and collodial silver? Is there any medicine to help him? I have heard 5 aspirin (325 mg) in 1 gallon of water. Is that true?
Please help.
Please do not tell me to take him to the vet as the vets generally do not necessarily know as much as I do, in my experience. I had a vet come out treat my animal and the next day the animal was dead. Nothing had been wrong before the prior day... The vet would essentially put him down due to lack of knowledge about the wild birds. I do not discount the valuable vets out there, I just have had no luck.
