I had this chick make it to internal pip on day 20, it never made it any further and died. I opened the egg and a lot of what seems to be yolk was present, some of it was extremely hard and gummy. The chick had partially absorbed the yolk sac and it was intact, not leaking. So what was this other gummy, yolk substance? The hen does lay double yolk eggs from time to time, this egg wasn't as big as her double yolks and I never noticed an extra yolk when candling. I'm stumped, never had this happen before
