This was the 3rd day one of my eggs had been trying to hatched, she had made quite a bit of progress but she had started to dry and the egg was stuck to her. So I rolled up my sleeves and went in to help the poor thing, after I managed to peel away most of the membrain she was having a hard time standing and getting used to not being in the position of squished up in her egg. It's been a while now and I'm wondering if she was so covered in 'egg stuff' that she won't fluff out, she's also having a hard time standing. Any help?

Debi Raymond had a chick that was so covered in egg gunk that she named him/her Elmer (like the glue)
I think you have to give the chick a bath, but maybe she'll chime in and say what she did.

Perhaps you should put something about "sticky chick help" in your title

I had a Chick that arrived to me covered in Intestinal Gunk from another dead chick in the shipping box.
She was stuck like that for 2 days, and was not able to stand at all.
I gave her a bath in WARM water, NO soap, to get all the Goo off. I held her under the heat-lamp for a WHILE and massaged her gently.
This helped her "Fluff" back out, and the heat-lamp kept her warm.
I used a shoe-box to keep her separate from the other chicks, and put a small rolled up hand-towel on each side of her to help her sit straight.
It took her a few days, but she eventually started to stand, then walk, then run. Now she is the BIGGEST out of all the pullets that arrived with her.
Just make sure to keep her under the heat-lamp after a bath. She should be fine. And DON'T get her nose under the water!
I slept next to my chick for the first 2 nights, so I could hand-feed her every hour.
Here is a link to her story. I hope it helps!

Wow, you sound like a very devoted chick rearer.

The chick hasn't improved so I'm going to bath her and hope she gets better. I'll update this and inform you all on what's happening.

Ok, the deed is done. I gave her a warm bath and then gave her a quick blow dry before popping her back in the incubator. She looks cleaner but she's still weak and rolling about. Only time will tell now...

I'm too late, but next time just leave the gunk. It dries and the chick works it off in a few days. I had one that was glued to it's shell (it was completely zipped, just couldn't get out) and 3 days later, you couldn't tell which one it was. It was fluffy just like the rest.

Well despite me washing it off and helping it out it really's starting to look more normal now, it's opening its eyes and fluffing up nicely.

Some patches where the glunk must have stayed she's not fluffing up but if what you say is true she'll work it off.
