Has anyone tried the spring chicken Zen house coop refresher?

saw this stuff at tsc and got it because I was gonna clean the coop. It’s got essential oil stuff in it? But I was wondering if anyone has tried it.

Knowing how irritating I, a human -- albeit one with asthma -- find "essential oils", I can only imagine how bad they must be for chickens' delicate respiratory systems.

Never heard of it. I, too, use PDZ. It's fantastic. I use if for my goats' house, too, sometimes (although I sometimes use barnlime for the goat house). Knocks down any ammonia smell so that neither stink.

That's right. Neither my coop nor my goat house stink. And it's always dry. I ❤ pdz.

I use PDZ for the poop boards. I have to clean the coop because it’s starting to smell but thank you for answering. I’ll take it back tomrrow.

Probably a good choice.

There are a LOT of things people try to sell us for our chickens when all they really need is space, fresh air, and a manure management system that keeps things dry.

I'm not a poop board user myself, but I know that they work splendidly for many people.

Do you sift the poops out daily from the poop boards?
Can you post pics of your poop boards?

What bedding is on the floor of the coop, and how long since you changed it out?

Any wet spots from coop leakage or spilled waterer?

Sometimes when it's hot and especially humid things are a bit smellier.

I also use pdz in my poop boards and scoop them daily, and large flake pine shavings in the coop, when I do a clean out (generally twice a year) I throw all the old shavings in the run, give a dusting of livestock power, a sprinkle of pdz, and new shavings.

Poop is scooped daily. They have like a little bit of bedding right now bc they always end up with less then the beginning. I haven’t cleaned in a while due to heat so I’m cleaning some day This week and then again just before snow. Besides that there coop is usally smell free. We are adding more venting areas soon just because humidity.
