Hi! I’ve read 100s of threads here on BYC in the last 6 months of raising chickens and finally have a new question to add to the discussion!
I am hatching my first set of fertilized eggs (so exciting!!) and am nervously awaiting the last two eggs to hatch! Two other chicks hatched this morning and went totally smooth. They’ve since romped around the incubator a bit and have managed to rotate the other two unhatched eggs. I’m not certain exactly how much they’ve rotated, but know they’re definitely not right-side up anymore. One has pipped in the middle of the egg (not on either end, and def not at the air cell), and the other hasn’t moved since it’s rotated.
I know it’s not wise to intervene in hatching, but would it behoove me to quickly try to adjust the two that’ve been turned over? Should I give them another day? Surely this happens all the time, right?
Important to note that this is already Day 22 of incubation.
