Have you ever canned maple syrup?

My uncle gave me a half gallon of maple syrup. We don't use it fast enough to keep it from getting mold on it. So I thought about dividing it up into half pint jars and canning it but I don't want to heat it too long and mess it up. Has anyone ever tried this?

I'll bet Frugal knows about this!! Frugal?

Real maple syrup. Yum!

Yes you can put it in smaller jars. We use glass jelly jars or whatever to can our syrup in. Heat it up in a pan on your stove, bring it up to just a light boil, then put in jars and they will reseal. You can also just clean the mold off with a spoon and heat it up and put it through a coffee strainer and it will be good as new. hope this answers your question.
