Had a couple nice folks come by the farm today to look at some chickens we're selling.
My Big Boy Barred Rock Roo comes in to see me. I pick him up with zero resistance from him and cuddle and pet him. The couple looked at the un natural spectacle with amazement.
His name is Dr. Pepper. A giant true companion who loves being loved. Mean as snake to other roos but a teddy bear to me and hubby.
The Roo Whisperer's.

Thats the kind of roo i need! We just got rid of 6 roosters in two days thanks to craigslist and traded one of our Jersey Giants for what seems to be a Bantam rooster mix, He gorgeous and his crow is the cutest thing on the farm. He can get a bit nasty though when holding him,I'm currently treating his legs since he has a case of "ugly Legs" But is getting better! All he wants to do is get with our hens and fight with our turkey. Sure am glade we got him ;)

I cuddle with my roosters, papa Roo-Roo and his 3 month old son who I raised, Peep-Peep, both are adorable snugglebugs who stretch their necks over my shoulder as I cuddle and pet them. :p They are Silkies so they are naturally docile, but I know roosters are a gamble in every breed.

I'm always cuddling my chickens. Everyone thinks I'm nuts. What a great thread! And even though my rooster hates me, less now than before, i still pick him up and hug him. If he's circling me (dropping wing) and i start to tell him what a good boy he is, he stops, looks down likes he's ashamed of treating me like that, and walks away! Or he'll sit and think about it, and then keep going. Depends on what mood he is in.

I always hug my chickens! I actually sleep with my chick (fluffy butt, pic is below) and keep her in my house! I put a little diaper on her in the night (I only sleep with her on occasions eg: Christmas, Easter.) when I say: food! Food! Food! She runs to me for the food. When I say! Box! She will jump in her box. Im trying to train her more stuff in the future too.
