I have a 3yo Black Astralop that had bad heat stroke last fall (northern California), during which her legs seemed to give out for a day or so until recovered and reintroduced with her flock. She immediately went into an early molt. She has never laid since and does not roost with her sisters, rather nests in the bottom floor corner of the coop. She doesn’t really have a limp during normal walking but clearly does not have the strength or desire to jump to her roost. This has been her normal behavior for 4+ months. Otherwise eating, pecking, exploring, and sunbathing like normal. Should we be concerned??

Welcome To BYC

Sorry to hear about your hen.
She may have suffered nerve damage during the attack.

If she's eating/drinking/pecking/exploring/sunbathing...like normal, then I wouldn't be too concerned. Enjoy her and check her out every once in a while for lice/mites.
