(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens! I have always been fascinated by them and they are my favorite animal!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
So I wanted to start out with about 6 but left the store with 9 LOL
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 8 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Black Sex-Link (Barred Rock hen and a Rhode Island Red cockerel)
This came to be because I walked up to the brooder they were in and all of them were in 1 and I couldn't leave any behind!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them grow has been really rewarding. I love and adore when they fall asleep on or near me ♡
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to crochet, I am starting my first garden this year, and I love growing flowers too!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I suppose I would just like to share that I am super new to chicks/chickens and any advice is awesome! I researched a lot before getting them so I think I am pretty knowledgeable with the basics but feel free to throw your advice at me! LOL
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known for a couple months now about BYC, I would look up a lot of questions and scenarios and read them. I have my chicks now and I had a question of my own that I haven't seen much on! (if anyone would like to check my profile and help answer that would be awesome!) But yeah I wanted to jump in more and maybe also help others someday! ♡
