My name is Brenna, I live in St. Louis, MO and I have a husband, and two kids (Ava 12, Tobey 16) I'm quite intimidated to be surrounded by such experienced chicken owners, but I feel like all I do is google questions and I'd much rather hear directly from all of you than get my info from random sites!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm very new to chickens, we just got our small coop and 4 chickens about 5 weeks ago. One of our pullets, a buff orpington, ended up being a roo so we traded him in for two new chickens just a few days ago :) We are keeping the chickens for eggs only.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 5 pullets between 9-13 weeks

(3) What breeds do you have? We have one of each of these: Australorp, Wellsummer, Light Brahma, Blue Silkie, Smooth/Satin Silkie

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Everything I would search would bring up several forums and I have learned so much from reading other people's questions so far!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I'm a freelance illustrator/designer so I love to create, but I also enjoy traveling, thrift shopping, gardening, etc

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Since I have answered most of these already I'll just add that my daughter is also loving our new chicken venture and it's a great way to spend time together. We have a cat, Birdie, who loves to watch the flock from every window in the house.
