Hi everyone! I'm new to the site from northern North Carolina and super excited to read and learn more.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand spanking new! I got my first chickens 6 weeks ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 9 chicks waiting to head outside!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Pita Pinta, Ameracauna, Lavender Orpington, Cuckoo Maran, Cream Legbar and Olive Egger

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far just watching them! They are insanely comical.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Horseback riding, gardening, swimming and fishing

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 3 dogs and a horse as well as my chickens. I'm a government contractor with Social Security and help individuals receiving public benefits like SSI/SSDI go back to work and become financially independent from their benefits.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found you through Facebook! I want to surround myself with other chicken parents so I can learn more and take care of my chickens well.
