I have recently purchased two goslings (hatched a week ago). As I was leaving for work this morning I checked on them to find that the bulb on my heat lamp had blown in the middle of the night and the smaller gosling of the two had gotten in the waterer and was soaking wet and laying on its back barely moving and breathing. I immediately replaced the bulb and quickly got some heat back on it. Fast forward to this evening and it appears the gosling is doing a lot better. It is chirping and drinking. My only concern is that it appears to have trouble walking and balancing. The poor thing is trying so hard to move around but is struggling. I can attach pictures if need be but I don’t know what to do or how to help it. I don’t want it to suffer if it does in fact have damage from being hypothermic (I have no idea how long the lamp had been out during the night). Does anyone have experience with recovering hypothermic goslings or what I need to do now? Any advice at all helps! Thanks in advance!
