We are hoping South Jordan, UT City Council changes the ordinance allowing chickens in more areas in Feb. Is there anyone willing to help our cause. I have set up a facebook page under Backyard chickens in South Jordan (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Backyard-Chickens-in-South-Jordan/374545045894471). I e-mailed my councilman, and he didn't seem too interested in the topic. I need some direction in how I go about getting my act together....

Your best bet is to get as many people in South Jordan involved as possible. If you all start showing up to city council meetings, and all start writing the city council members, it'll make a bigger impact. Be lots of squeaky wheels.

Here's a couple links to help you.

There's a whole section here devoted to changing local ordinances: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/37/local-chicken-laws-ordinances-and-how-to-change-them

Also, you should join the Salt Lake Urban Chicken Farmers Group on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/105641836154520/

Best of luck to you!
