I have some expensive silk flowers and they are quite dusty....is there any way of cleaning them aside from wiping each leaf and flower individually?

Do you have a static duster??? That is one way. Another way is to spray them with water and shake them until dry. Or at least shake the excess water off of them and that way there won't be this huge dust cloud. I used to have a flower arrangement of artificial flowers and I used the water method...worked for me. I do that to my real plants to...except I don't shake them. Good Luck.

This is what my grandma did (her home was filled with silk flower arrangements). She took a bag large enough to fit over the flowers and poured a cup of salt in the bottom. Then she tapped the bag closed around the stem of the flowers. Shake the bag vigorously enough to create a storm of salt granules in that bag, but not so vigorously you damage your flowers. The little salt grains grab onto dust and cobwebs and even get into nooks and crannies really nicely. Works very well. I use this method twice a year to clean the greenery and flowers in my home.

That's the way to do it! It works great. I've done that by putting the entire arrangement into a large brown paper bag, holding tight and shaking. You can use some rice for larger arrangements too.

Actually I am probably really bad - I just chuck um in a bowl of warm water with some washing liquid leave them foe a few mins and then wash them off. I rearange and let them dry naturally. - It works for me but I wouldn;t do it with expensive ones.

Mine are stiill alive and kept their colour fine but they do get damaged over time. I hated the dust on them and couldn;t live with it anymore.

Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only one that gives them a gentle swish in a very diluted solution of mild soapy water!

Mine aren't actually silk, they're a synthetic fabric and are colorfast, so they can take it. Getting wet doesn't improve spider webs or make them let go, so if I ever saw any of those, I would remove them, first. I do a couple of dips in clean water to rinse and let dry.
