I was just positioning my eggs for hatch and I accidentally dropped 1 a couple inches into the counter and it cracked. It didn't crack open but the shell is cracked. I put it back in the incubator right away and humidity is 75%. It's due to hatch today tomorrow or the next. Is there any else I can do or just hope and pray it hatches? I am sick to my stomach.

You can put a small layer of wax over the crack( not too thick otherwise the chick might have trouble getting through) or you can put some clear nail polish over it but since it hatching tomorrow or the next day chances are it will be fine. I also accidentally cracked one of my eggs in incubation and I put wax over and it was the only one that made it to the end because I had incubator problems

So you think I could just leave it and not put anything on it? I hate to pull it out again if I don't have to but I don't want to risk losing it. I only have 2 of 7 remaining and I'd hate for the other one to be a Singleton.

I personally think it will be fine. But I'm not sure. As long as bacteria don't get in it should hatch. And it's very close.
@PippinTheChicken might be able to help

They are Mille Fleur D'uccle bantams. Today is day 19. The gal I got them from said hers usually hatch day 20.

Usually we would suggest applying wax to the cracks. This is because bacteria can get into the egg and harm the embryo. But since this egg could be hatching tomorrow, or the next day, there isn't much point in my opinion. It's right at the end of incubation, and within a day or two the chick will be cracking the egg itself.
Since there's no break in the membrane, no bleeding, I wouldn't be too worried.
Others may disagree, but that is my opinion.

She might be incubating a little on the warm side, causing hers to hatch early. Either way, I wouldn’t put anything on the egg being this close. I always get some big fluffy folded towels and place all around my incubator when preparing for lockdown. I’m very clumsy. I dropped an egg once while trying to candle and did the wax thing. It still went rotten but that was very early on. Since then I pick a day between day 10 and 14 and candle once. The more you mess with them, the more chance there is to drop one. Keep us posted on your progress!😄
