I have a sapphire gem pullet (23 weeks old) that's been lethargic all day today and some of yesterday and I'm out of town.

She laid an egg this morning but she has been sitting either in the coop or run all day. Kind of looks like she's napping but I know chickens don't nap. Her comb is bright red. Her tail is kind of tucked down - not perked up like our other girls. I had a neighbor go over and she hopped up and ate when he was there. He got her to drink a little water a couple times, too. He felt her belly/underside and it isn't hot.
Her vent seems to be pulsating a lot but it was clean and no egg in sight.

Our coop is hemp bedding; straw and dirt in the run. It's been hot here this week - wondering if she got overheated?

The other 4 pullets are acting normally.

Any other ideas what she has going on? We have been out of town about 10 days. Any way she is depressed and missing me?

She looks hot, but it’s hard to say if that’s the issue. Maybe you could try giving her some electrolytes in her water and scrambled eggs to help perk her up. Maybe bring her inside for a bit (if it’s not too stressful for her) and see if she acts differently being in a cooler environment?

She got some electrolytes and appears to be favoring one leg over the other so I think she's got a leg injury. She hasn't left the coop at all today. 😕

Oh no I am sorry. Have you inspected the pads of her feet for any bumblefoot signs? Looked at her whole leg up and down for injuries or blood? Felt for any breaks or warmth?
