Need any advice.
I know, or think I know, that one goose is not a good thing.
We have a pond, and the geese are known to fly in and leave periodically. There is no pattern or schedule that we are aware of.
I currently have 11 ducks on the pond that were hatched in July.
The goose has been here about a week. Will not come anywhere near us and is very skittish. Although he/she will hang out close to the ducks, but not WITH them. When I feed the ducks, (they are a sort of mini gang) it does not come to eat.
Any advice as to how to best help this goose? Should I try to feed it? I am afraid it cant fly as opposed to chose not to.

I would just continue to observe it.
Is it a wild goose or a domestic?
Hopefully it is not sick as it could make your flock sick.

If she is a canadian goose he may be in molt and unable to fly that is normal in june or july but she may have molted late and been left behind. They cant fly during molt its normal. Snow geese are up in the far north doing the same thing its when they catch them and tag them. My state vet had her first job doing that its fun to here the storys...

No idea. I guess theoretically it could be either. There are some domestics that live around here, but they just visit and leave. Andnat some point there's a ton of them that are wild and once or twice they've stopped here in HUGE numbers and left soon after.

Definitely looks like a wild goose. Most ducks are opportunist so they will jump at offered feed. Geese are a little different they graze grass occasional bugs dirt and small fish like minnows. She is probably fine when her flight feathers come back she will find the others left behind. In the mean time enjoy her distant company... When wild geese are in a flock they can seem a little agressive protecting what they have claimed when alone just standoffish and leery. Give her her space you will get her respect...

About how long would I expect her to hang around?
