Hi i found an abandoned duck nest and saw the dead mother next to it so I took the eggs to try to hatch them. I’ve had them for 16 days but I know that they have been alive for at least 23 days because I saw the nest before the mother died. Anyway, there was 6 but now there’s only 2 left because the other ones started smelling bad. these last 2 dont smell bad but I haven’t seen any movement when candlung. Also the shells have some discoloring and spots on them. I have no idea how far along these eggs are or if they’re even alive. how Much longer should I continue to incubate them? Or are they dead? I will attach pictures of them. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO!!!

I see veins in #3 so I hope it’s still alive. I would keep incubating them just for the odds of one hatching.

Do continue keeping an eye (or nose) out for them in case they are dead.

Yeah, number 3 is alive. Is there a rescue that can take them? They're illegal to have. What kind of incubator are they in? Did you calibrate a thermometer to check the temp with? Uncalibrated ones are almost always wrong.

Number one looks a little spotty (although that could be something on the shell). The eggs I have incubated get a rotten smell and look spotty when dead. Although the air cell looks really big, so maybe it is close to hatching time🤷‍♀️ It wouldn't hurt to wait and see if they hatch.

I did not know they were illegal to have, I will look into places I can bring them, thank you for letting me know! I made an incubator, after doing a lot of research online and yes I do.
