Hi! I haven't raised geese or ducks in a long time. I have 5 geese total, I believe they are are an African and Brown Chinese cross, 4 have pinkish grey feet and one has orange feet. I think I have 4 females and one male. The one that I think is a male stands tall and erect and has a high pitched voice, and and the other 4 have deep honks. The one that I think is a male does not honk. The geese are 18 weeks old. The one with the yellow leg band is the one I believe is the gander.

Beautiful Kids by the way. I think what you have are the production African geese. They are a breed developed from Dewlap Africans to lay more eggs be more fertile and produce more. Breeders for many years have kept there more prolific geese and given up on the APA confirmation and the size. Most of the time they are purebred Africans. Chinese are quite different with a different upright stance longer swan like necks and a more defined cheek area. I started with them and still have my favorite 2 running with my flock
It sounds like from what you describe by the voices you are correct, And the one greeting you with his head in the air dose stance like a boy.

Thank you! Yes, they are stockier than Chinese, but not as big and heavy as an African! The male probably weighs 10 pounds now at 20 weeks old, the other 4 are smaller.
