Help! My three day old chicks have been exposed to coccidiosis- is the treatment dose safe at their age?

I ordered chicks from a homestead and received a mix of ages including, unexpectedly and less than ideally, a five week old chick and several 2-3 week olds. The five week old has red in her stool- not every stool, just a few of them per day.

I am also seeing some red in the stool in the brooder where the 0-3 week old chicks are being kept away from the five week old.

I have been treating the five week old and my outdoor flock with Corrid. I am currently giving the little ones the prevention dose BUT since I see red in droppings I am worried that won’t be enough.

Is the treatment dose safe and appropriate for chicks as young as three days old?

Yes. It's not remotely harmful, It's just a thiamine inhibitor.
Is it blood or just intestinal shed?
I’m not sure how to tell the difference! I only know that the larger chicken has had at least two days of occasional droppings with red and I do not know which/how many of the little chicks are producing the red in their stool.

This is what the older chicks stool looks like.

I just wasn’t sure if ones so little as 3 days old can have Corrid? Is it risky to inhibit thiamine?

I would definitely treat the older chicks with the bloody droppings. Treat with 2 tsp of the Corid liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days. Usually baby chicks don’t get coccidiosis until a few weeks old. But if you see frank blood, I would use the stronger dose. Once treatment is finished, give vitamins for a few days.

They all share the same water supply. Is it safe for the babies to have the full dose?

Yes, give them all the full dose - treat them all.
