This is my first hatch and I have an egg that has pipped on the bottom. What do I do? Turn it over, assist the hatch, or leave it be? I don't see how it can hatch when it pips on the underside. I am so worried. Please help.

If it's pipped on the underside (side facing the floor) and you want to flip it over and you have your humidity up 70%+ flip it over. If it on the wrong end (bottom being pointed end) malepositioned then just keep an eye on it and give it 24 hours.

Yes, I am so sorry I should have made my post clearer. It has pipped on the bottom meaning towards the floor. I was worried as to how it would be able to zip if it couldn't push it zip the shell away. I am so thankful you responded. I was worried sick that they wouldn't survive. I actually have 2 that have pipped this way. And the other one that pipped, pupped in the correct spot but my membrane looks very dry. I have my humidity about 90 is that too high?

If the membranes are white and papery that's perfect. If they turn a yellowish/brown and sticky looking, then it's time to get concerned. Chicks can hatch just fine facing the bottom as long as there is nothing covering the pip hole. They will still zip right around and push out. For future hatces I'll give you a tip: If you candle and mark the air cells at day 18 (before you go into lockdown) you can get an idea of where they will pip because generally they pip near in the vicinity of the lowest point of the air cell, so when you lock down, you put that side facing up.
90% is quite high. I run at about 75% it'll go up to 80%+ during hatch, bt I'm a meddler and open my bator during hatch so it doesn't usually stay that high. If you have any condensation in the bator then it definitely is "too" high.

GIve me a sec and I'll see if I can find a couple decent pics so you can see what a "healthy" looking pip is and you'll also see my air cell traces on teh eggs.

More zipping than pipping going on in the pics, but hopefully it'll help you see what the membranes should look like and see how marking the air cells help determine where they will pip.

Awesome that is great. Thank you. I will try to take a pic and upload it if I can. I am also one who likes to "meddle". But I frequently get condensation on the inside of my bator. Should I take some of the water out? I thought that if the membrane looked white and papery then it was too dry. Shew now I am worried it is too high lol. But I am glad someone responded to ease my worried mind.

I can't figure out how to do pics but I am much happier knowing they are doing ok for now. Again thank you. I will keep you posted on my precious baby silkies. :D

Don't add anymore water and let it run itself down a bit. You have the vents open right? white and papery=good brown/yellow and leathery=bad. Hope you see some babies soon!
