I hatched out 10 beautiful Button Quail Chicks 10/6 and have five eggs I’m waiting on in the incubator. I’m here is South Florida and we are nervously expecting Hurricane Milton to land this week. Luckily we will be on the out skirts, but I’m freaking out over possibly not having a heat source for them in the event I loose power. We do not have a generator, but I currently am on the hunt for instant heat packs. They are hard to find considering it almost never dips below 60 degrees where I live.

I will not be keeping all of the buttons, but they’re very sweet. They love to cuddle up to my hands (I suspect they imprinted) so I gave them scrunchies to simulate.

Please anyone who has endured something similar or has advice please share!! Thank you

Try and see if you can get some reptile shipping packs to arrive before the hurricane. They last a very long time and don't get overly hot. they are expensive but I think they are worth it. you can find ones that last for 30, 40, 60, and 70 hours. I website for the link I posted tends to have fast shipping time so it may be a good place to check

Do you have or can you get a camp stove and fuel for it? You can use hot water bottles if you need to.
Thank you everyone @BigBlueHen53 @Logar for all the well wishes. Luckily I was able to get a hold of a smaller generator. I doubt I will be able to get a hold of the shipping packs, but I’m asking around with some of our reptile breeder friends near by in the event (god forbid) something goes wrong with the generator. I’m also trying to keep candles set aside for the quail and reuse-able heat packs that I can warm with the remaining heat from the lamp after loosing power in worst case.
