Hi,
I got these last spring, end of April. I thought I had 2 Jakes, but I am getting turkey eggs. Both have what appear to be small beards, but I looked at my bronze hen and she has a small one as well.
Thanks for any help!

The above are all the same bird.
Below is the other one.

Here they are side by side

I have not heard one of them "gobble" yet, so I'm starting to think they are both hens?
Thanks so much for your expertise!

you have a lovely pair of hens.

no wattles. mow hawk feathers up back of neck and head. small snood.

I had at one time 4 hens with beards. still have one left.

Yep, you have 2 hens.

Here's a hen and a Tom

My BBB females get beards too, though. It's the snood and caruncles that are the tell on a Jake vs a Jenny. Males will get a bigger snood and the caruncles will turn red at about 6 months of age. Before then, a males head will turn a pale blue.

Beautiful birds; I wouldn't have gotten turkeys if it wasn't for the royal palms :)

Thanks for your help! I had 4 to begin with, but sadly two died. I was really hoping for a Tom to have strutting and gobbling around, and to hatch out some babies. They really are beautiful birds!

No problem :)

I'm so sorry for your loss! Turkeys can be tricky. :(

I only got the 2 royal palms with a batch of BBB, and am pleased that I ended up with a mating pair. I'm stoked to have some poults in spring... Too bad you aren't closer, I'd give you some eggs to hatch! :D

Thanks! Have fun hatching some out! I was hoping my boys could enjoy that experience this spring, but hopefully next spring. :)
Thanks again!
