Hello! My 2 year old peahen had been roosting on the ground for a few days. So we brought her in for a week and have been treating her for worms. We gave her some dewormer, B vitamins, electrolyte, probiotics, and nutritional yeast. After a week, it only seems like she is getting worse. Her poo is still runny and she is laying most of the day. What is going on and how can we treat her??

PS - I'm worried another one of our other peahens may have caught what she's got. She has droopy wings and have been laying on the ground more than usual. Could this be a bacterial or viral thing?? If it is, are my other birds safe??

Probable black head, treat with metronidazole, 250mg per day for five days. It is best to give half in the morning and the other in the evening. She also needs to be tube fed as she is probably not eating on her own. BH usually kills a bird in only a few days so get that drug in her asap. Ask a vet for it or you can find it in the fish section at the big pet stores.
