Hi, I’ve noticed something hanging out of my chickens vent. It seems to be shriveled and partially fleshy. The surrounding feathers were yellowish as well so I was thinking some type of vent gleet but that didn’t really explain the thing sticking out the vent. So I have her in an epsom salt bath now, but not sure what to do next. I’ve seen it could be a soft egg that cracked and I should pull it out, but I’ve also seen it could be a prolapse and to push it in. Any thoughts to recommendations?

It may be a lash egg. Will it move outward? It looks too pale to be a prolapse. Can you get her into a soak of warm water just up to her vent. I would given her human calcium citrate with vitamin D orally today and for 7 days. That can help her pass it. Here is a good price:

It does move around, but I was hesitant to pull it outwards in the case it was a prolapse of some kind. I did soak her in a bath and was able to remove the soft shelled egg. All that remains is the wrinkled mass. She was able to poop normally overnight, so I’m not thinking it’s a prolapse either! This is what’s left! I will definitely check out the calcium citrate and vitamin d
