How is it possible to get a small stash of antibiotics to keep on hand for emergencies like these? I’m a single mom and kind of freaking out over the last vet bill!

Hi! A few of them I ordered online.. fish antibiotics or other online versions/birds etc.. just generic ones for emergencies. I had some left over from a previous vet appt.

Hi friends.. just wanted to send an update that Lilac lost her battle with cancer. She started to decline pretty badly this past week and I made the difficult decision to have her put to sleep. I was hoping she would pass with her flock under her favorite bush but the suffering became too much. No question she is eating bugs and worms with her sisters that have passed now. We went through a lot on this amazing forum with her from cancer to major wound care..I cannot thank you all enough

I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a beautiful chicken. You did such a great job with her, and I am sure she is very happy. We're all here for you if you need us.

Your vet didn't discuss what could be going on with her? If she has something chronic and her quality of life is not good , the draining and antibiotics will only prolong the inevitable. I'm sorry she is for sure a beautiful lady amd I know you love her.

Thank you so much. I’ll keep loving on her until we can get into the vet and hope it’s not too late. I had a feeling it would be chronic and at some point I know the difficult choice is coming but she is worth another vet appointment. I hope she can stay strong until I can get in next week. I appreciate you all so very much

Hey everyone.. an update for my Lilac. We had our vet appt today.. sadly Lilac has cancer (most likely reproductive) she was able to compare X-rays from 7 months ago and it showed enlarged liver, reproductive area, spots on lungs… she gave us some Excede for possible 2nd hand respitory infection… she didn’t have a swollen abdomen so no need to drain her. She also gave anti inflammatories and pain meds to keep her comfortable. I’m sad but hoping for some more time with her. She is ok.. quality of life still worth living the vet did mention a probiotic to give her while on antibiotic… a paste? Would anyone know what that is and how much to give her? thanks everyone for all the help with Lilac Here she is at the vet and home afterwards with her flock

I'm so so sorry. I know how much we fall in love with these wonderful girls
