Hi thank you for getting back to me it's my mates chicken so I have just asked her waiting on her reply but I know she is old now has stopped laying she has had to separate her because the other girls are picking on her and ahe fulls down jer balance is good bless her thanl U must for the advice do u think she should put her down or just keep her separate again thank youHow old is she ? I would suspect that she has salpingitis, and her abdomen may contain some lash material inside. That happens when they lay internally, and is called egg yolk peritonitis or nowadays, coelomitis. Of course, you won’t know for sure until she passes away one day when you could do a necropsy on her body. They tend to walk more upright, and may have problems walking or with balance. Can she see the other chickens? I would try to keep her close to them, but protected from getting picked on. Here is a good link to read:

Hi thank you for the reply yes she is eating and drinking VeryI would consider putting her down if she ever appears to be suffering or in pain. If she is eating and walking around, and still interested in a treat, I would wait. Sometimes they will have crop problems, and may go downhill. Your mate may want to do a necropsy (autopsy) on her when she does die, just to see what was going on inside her body. If they do that, you can post pictures her of her organs and abdominal contents. We can give opinions.

Very interesting! Thank you for asking the question, really appreciate it. The only thing which makes me not sure is that she stopped laying well over a year ago; she’s probably 7 years old now.. also it seemed to happen really quickly- one day she was fine, the next she couldn’t walk normally. She seems happy enough, eating , pooping ok. I’ve put her back in with the others and they don’t seem to be picking on her now. I guess if she’s happy for now il just keep an eye on herHi thank you for getting back to me it's my mates chicken so I have just asked her waiting on her reply but I know she is old now has stopped laying she has had to separate her because the other girls are picking on her and ahe fulls down jer balance is good bless her thanl U must for the advice do u think she should put her down or just keep her separate again thank you
